We’re funded to plant trees in areas of the city with the lowest percentage canopy cover.
We’re currently funded toward planting more trees in Soho & Jewellery Quarter, Shard End, Glebe Farm & Tile Cross, Sparkhill, Tyseley & Hay Mills and Lozells. However, we need more trees in all areas of the city so we can support you and your community to plant new trees even if you are not in a priority ward. Below is a list of all of Birmingham’s 69 wards with their percentage canopy cover as of 2023.
Planting new trees can help with specific issues such as air pollution and flood risk mitigation, diversify species to reduce pest & disease risk and act as successional trees to help prepare neighbourhoods for the future.
