Commemorative Tree Planting

Our Commemorative Tree Planting project offers an impactful and generous way to celebrate life and honour loved ones.

Working with the rangers of Sutton Park, we are pleased to offer the opportunity to plant an English Oak (Quercus robur). This project directly supports the rangers ongoing work to expand Sutton Park's Oak population, creating a special place for family and friends to gather and reflect.

Please note - Applications for the upcoming winter 2026/27 planting season closed in summer 2026. We will begin accepting new applications in Spring 2027 for the winter 2027/28 planting season.

Please read the details below to learn more and register your interest.

Process and Pricing

Tree Selection: We source Heavy Standard Oak trees, typically around 10 years old at purchase, from a Plant Healthy certified nursery located outside the Oak Processionary Moth buffer zone.

Planting & Location: Planting takes place during the winter while the trees are dormant. Working alongside Sutton Park rangers, trees are planted along an avenue stretching from the Jamboree Memorial to Boldmere Gate. You will receive the precise location of your tree, after planting, so you can visit.

Cost: The total price for planting and care for 3 years to help them establish is £750.

Timeline

Tree orders are placed in late summer or autumn, with all Commemorative Trees confirmed by the end of July prior to the following winter planting season.

Please note: We cannot accept additional planting requests for this upcoming planting season (winter 2026/27), as all trees for this planting have already been ordered.

A. Planting takes place between mid-November and early February and is led by Park Rangers and therefore cannot be flexible unfortunately.

Q. Can we install a plaque?
