Urban Forest Master Plan

This strategic document, developed in partnership with Birmingham City Council, Treeconomics, and the Nature Based Solutions Institute, sets out the long-term vision for the city’s green spaces and natural capital. It provides an action-focused framework for how Birmingham’s urban forest will be developed, managed, and protected in the years ahead, defining shared aspirations for the council, urban forest managers, and key stakeholders. The plan is structured around clear key performance indicators, each supported by specific actions, targets, and milestones to measure progress over time.

The plan brings existing policies and frameworks together, offering a comprehensive guide to urban forest practices which can help build a greener, healthier urban forest.
